September 2023	Settling in Protective behaviours Building parent partnership On entry assessments
October 2023	Halloween (week beg 19^th October) – Children will enjoy lots of fun activities this week in preparation for Halloween.
November 2023	Bonfire night (5^th November) Children will learn about fire and firework safety. Fun activities such as firework crafts and cooking. Remembrance day – Children will make poppies and children will learn about what we are remembering. (Remembrance slide show) Diwali – Children will make Diya lamps and Rangoli patterns. We will tell the story of Rama and Sita.
December 2023	Christmas festival. Children will make lots of fun Christmas crafts to take home. We will have a nativity and Christmas carol service which parents can come along to and watch. Children will bake, wrap gifts, enjoy party games, sing songs and listen to Christmas stories.
January 2023	‘Celebrating different cultures and diversity week’ This week we be celebrating our children’s heritage, we have children attend whose heritage is Caribbean, Jamaican, African, Pakistani, Moroccan and British. We will learn about different traditions and ways of life, we will taste different food and learn new languages.
February 2023	Chinese New Year Children will embrace the Chinese culture by tasting different Chinese food, making lucky red envelopes, making a dragon and joining in with a dragon dance. Valentines day (14^th Feb)
March 2023	Mothers Day (14^th March) St Patricks Day Children celebrate by following some Irish traditions. Easter Children will learn about the Easter Story and will join in with Easter crafts, games and songs. We will have an Easter fun day where children have a bonnet parade, egg decorating competition, a bake off and egg and spoons races.
April 2023	May day Today we celebrate spring and new beginnings the children will learn about Morris dancing and skipping around a maypole.
May 2023	Eid We will be learning about the Eid celebrations by asking parents to come in and talk to us about how they celebrate it with their families.
June 2023	Fathers Day

Our planning is always based on the children’s interests. We introduce new themes and festivals to enhance the children’s learning and see where it takes us. Please let us know if you could help us learn about something new, we are always keen to find out new things. If we have missed a festival or you have something that will help us celebrate it then we would be very grateful.
